Falun Gong uses Internet to communicate (03/24/2001)

The International Herald Tribune reported on March 24, 2001 that Internet-savvy Falun Gong cult has secretly used e-mail to communicate with each other, and rallied to surround top Chinese leadership's compound in Beijing.

The newspaper noted that in April 1999 more than 10,000 followers of Falun Gong were furtively rallied - in part by e-mail - to surround the top leadership's compound.

The Internet has brought extraordinary change to China, the newspaper said.
